Brahms and Bizet with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra
Alondra de la Parra continues her tenure as the Music Director of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra with vibrant concerts in celebration of the QSO’s 70th Anniversary Season. On November 17 & 18, violinist Barnabás Kelemen joins Ms. de la Parra and the QSO as soloist on Brahms’ thrilling Violin Concerto, on performances that also include Dutilleux’ Métaboles and Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé Suites 1 & 2, with The Australian Voices.
Continuing on the theme of featuring great French masterworks, Ms. de la Parra leads a fantastic roster of vocalists in a concert performance of Bizet’s Carmen on November 25. Vesselina Kasarova makes her Australian debut in the title role, with Thiago Arancam as her desperate lover Don José. This event is featured as a spectacular recognition of the Orchestra’s anniversary.
